Every year, Conde Nast Traveler

reveals its annual hot list,

which spotlights the best new hotels,

restaurants and more around the world.

Here, a restorative retreat in upstate New York,

a reimagined icon in Miami and a sky high oasis

in the heart of downtown Los Angeles

are three of the standout properties

on this year's hot list.

You have arrived in upstate New York's Hudson Valley

at the New Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts collection.

Although it's just 90 minutes from New York City,

this retreat set on 140 bucolic acres,

feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle

of everyday life.

Upon arriving, you'll quickly see that the great porch,

a covered alfresco communal area with a central fire pit

is the fulcrum of the property.

There's plenty to do,

including taking a movement or a fitness class,

or visiting the excellent Thistle Spa.

Make sure to allow time for lounging on a day bed

beside the peaceful indoor saltwater pool

and for a session in the sauna.

The restaurant, Clay, with its soaring ceilings

and huge windows is made cozy by a central hearth

and lots of intimate seating.

The menu at Clay is a tribute to locally grown

and seasonably sourced ingredients

and you'll find tasty dishes

like filet mignon with broccolini

and cavatelli pasta with charred cherry tomatoes.

Guest rooms come in the form of 65 freestanding cabins.

All of the cabins have private outdoor spaces

and floor to ceiling windows

to bring the natural beauty inside.

For the ultimate indulgence,

opt for one of the ridge suites

with a round wood burning fireplace in the living room

and a gas burning stove in the bedroom,

a deep bathtub and an outdoor shower.

And the best part,

a cedar hot tub sunk into the terrace.

After a few days here,

you may just pick up and move to the country.

Welcome to Miami and Mayfair House Hotel and Garden.

Set in the lush and leafy Coconut Grove neighborhood.

About 10 minutes south of downtown,

this Miami icon has come blazing back to life

after a smart two-year re-imagination.

The hotel was originally built in the mid 1980s

in the garden atrium style

by acclaimed architect Kenneth Treister.

Today, the soaring atrium with its riot of tropical plants

and fountains is still the heart of the hotel.

The main restaurant, The Mayfair Grill,

spotlights local produce while bringing

a Southwest flair to the menu

and it has become one of the hardest

neighborhood reservations to score.

Up on the rooftop Sip Sip Bar

with its tropical mural and rum heavy cocktail list

is a celebration of Miami's Caribbean heritage.

To keep the vacation vibes going, grab a cold drink

and set up on one of the poolside loungers.

Rooms playfully conjure up the eighties.

Pops of bright blue and terracotta.

And with plenty of living space and sprawling balconies,

there's room to bring the kids along.

Even the clawfoot tubs feel family size.

Consider the reborn Mayfair House

your new home away from home.

Touch down in the city of Angels

at the New Conrad Los Angeles

in the city's downtown neighborhood.

This is star architect Frank Gary's

first hotel project in his hometown.

With modern guest rooms and an indoor outdoor vibe

including a sprawling rooftop terrace,

it's a total scene stealer.

Michelin starred chef Jose Andres is

behind the hotel's two signature restaurants.

Aqua Viva is a stylish rooftop spot

with a laid back, casually chic atmosphere.

At San Laurel, chef Andres's menu adds a California twist

to the flavors of his native Spain.

For starters, think classic olive oil

Inez Rosales' crackers and Spanish cheeses,

followed by a succulent rack of lamb

served with a spiced carrot puree.

The smartly designed spa features all

of the cutting edge beauty and wellness treatments

that LA is known for.

If a few laps in the pool followed by an afternoon nap

are more your speed,

head to the rooftop swimming pool and lounge area.

The 305 contemporary guest rooms

are a study in understated elegance.

For the full California experience,

book the City View Suite with ample living space,

a decadent soaking tub

and an expansive private terrace

with stunning cityscape views.

This is LA in a whole new way.

A great hotel draws in the best of food, design and comfort

and is the foundation of an amazing trip.
