Now that Tom Brady is officially a retired athlete—though he did make sure to tell reporters “never say never”—he’ll likely be spending a lot more time at home. Presently, home mainly refers to a $17-million mansion on Indian Creek in Miami that is still in the works, but the NFL champ and supermodel Gisele Bündchen, his wife, have accrued quite the impressive real estate portfolio over the years. Since they got married in 2009, the pair have jointly owned properties in Los Angeles, New York City, Tampa, Montana, and, of course, Boston. Though, to be fair, the couple is known just as much for their penchant for flipping homes for a considerable profit as their taste in lavish, high-end residences, so not many of these holdings remain in their possession. Still, it feels meaningful to take a stroll back along memory lane. Below, we’ve rounded up some of the most memorable spots the A-list couple has called home.

Several years before Brady and Bündchen said “I do” in February 2009, the athlete was living in a posh $4.125 million condo in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. He owned a 3,412-square-foot full-floor unit in the Burrage Mansion, a late 19th-century French château-style building with gargoyles and cherubs carved into the exterior. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom bachelor pad featured a chef’s kitchen that opened onto a family room with a fireplace, as well as a second fireplace in the living room overlooking the Commonwealth Mall. Brady ultimately unloaded the property for $5.285 million in 2008, netting more than a $1 million profit.

The athlete leveled up with his next home, a 5,311-square-foot, $6.2-million penthouse on Boston’s Beacon Street. The massive triplex featured three bedrooms, a living room, a library, and a media room on a separate floor. Brady also had rooftop access with unobstructed views of the Charles River. Shortly after marrying Bündchen, however, Brady put the pad on the market, where it lingered for some time before finally selling for $9.27 million in 2012.

After tying the knot, Brady and Bündchen moved to Brentwood, California, renting a home and eventually buying the land next door. They hired architect Richard Landry and interior designer Joan Behnke to build a sprawling, eco-conscious mansion to the tune of $11.75 million. Unique features of the 18,298-square-foot pad included two huge solar panels that supplied energy throughout the property, a moat and bridge at the entrance, and a swimming pool out back shaped to resemble a natural lake. The couple used reclaimed materials for the interior of the home and leaned into the idea of being “as sustainable as possible,” they told AD in 2013. They later sold their sanctuary to none other than Dr. Dre for a whopping $40 million in 2014.

Brady and Bündchen teamed up with Landry once more when they decided to build a similarly luxurious home in the Brookline suburb of Boston. The pair paid $4.5 million for the 5-acre property and then worked with Landry to custom-build a sprawling 12,112-square-foot mansion, complete with yoga studio, wine room, play room, gym, and a 2,400-square-foot guest house that Bündchen called her sanctuary during a tour with Vogue. “Why do I live here? It’s called love,” Bündchen said in the interview, joking about how she deals with the cold in New England. “I love my husband… Cold is not my flavor. I’m Brazilian. I’d rather live barefoot in a hut in the middle of the forest somewhere.” The supermodel got her wish—sort of—in early 2020 when Brady was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They put their Brookline home on the market and ultimately sold it for a reported $32.5 million that Christmas Eve.

Around the same time they purchased property in Boston, the couple also put down $11.7 million for a Peter Marino–designed condo in the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan. Located on the 48th floor of the luxury building, the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom unit boasted 360-degree views of the city, with floor-to-ceiling windows all throughout the pad. The home was something of a mansion in the sky, with a large living room, an open kitchen, a large den, and a main suite with a floating marble tub. Brady and Bündchen didn’t stay long, however. They listed the condo for $17.25 million in 2016 and ended up cutting the asking price down until they finally had it listed for $13.95 million in 2018. It sold shortly after that for an undisclosed price.

In addition to owning homes on both coasts, the two superstars are also reportedly members of the Yellowstone Club in Montana, an exclusive resort community known for skiing, mountain biking, mountain climbing, and golf. To be a member of the club, you must own property within a certain parameter. The exclusivity comes from both the price of the homes themselves—which range from $2.5 million to $25 million—and the fact that membership is capped at 862 households. Membership reportedly starts at $300,000, with annual fees of $37,500. Brady and Bündchen reportedly purchased a home there in 2017, but little is known about how much they spent. Other celebs who own residences there include Bill and Melinda Gates, and Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake. They likely still own this home.

The couple maintained a foothold in NYC with the purchase of a $25.5-million Tribeca apartment the following year. Their five-bedroom pad was located in Robert A.M. Stern’s 70 Vestry Street, a luminous limestone behemoth overlooking the Hudson River. The 12th-floor condo featured a gourmet kitchen, sweeping views, and a private 1,900-square-foot terrace. They worked with Peter Marino again to reimagine the interiors of their home. The building amenities were ideal for celebrities, with a private carport, an 82-foot lap pool, and a children’s room. Once Brady’s trade to the Buccaneers became official, however, the pair decided to downsize a bit and sold the unit for just under $40 million in December 2020. That same month, they purchased a much-smaller unit on the same floor to act as their Manhattan pied-à-terre for $3.5 million.

The move to Tampa was a big one, so Brady and Bündchen opted to rent first as they scoped out their real estate prospects in early 2020. But their rental wasn’t just any old place—they famously leased Derek Jeter’s home on Tampa Bay’s exclusive Davis Islands. Though the actual terms of the agreement weren’t readily available, the Tampa Bay Times estimates that rent was likely in the ballpark of $75,000 a month, given rental rates for similar properties in the area. The custom English-style mansion measured a whopping 30,000 square feet, with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, an entertainment room, and a billiards room that wrapped around a swimming pool overlooking the water. There was also a small dock with two boat lifts. Jeter initially purchased the home in 2010, but currently spends most of his time in a massive apartment complex just outside downtown Miami ever since he took over as the chief executive officer and part-owner of the Miami Marlins. He sold the home in May of 2021.

In late 2020, Bündchen and Brady made headlines when they dropped $17 million for a property on ultra exclusive Indian Creek Island, otherwise known as Billionaire Bunker, located just outside of Miami Beach. Famous residents of the island include Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, as well as Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s Jeffrey Soffer. Victoria’s Secret supermodel Adriana Lima also previously owned a home there, but she sold it in early 2022. Bündchen and Brady’s new residence included a 5,772-square-foot teardown that they immediately got to work on with architect Scott Mitchell. No doubt whatever mansion takes the place of the existing structure will be just as eco-friendly and stylish as their other homes.
