Being a star NFL player certainly comes with its perks, chief among them is the lavish real estate that the best-of-the-best tend to call home. Often set on a coast with jaw-dropping views, containing a laundry list of increasingly niche amenities and several bathrooms per bedroom, those swoon-worthy homes naturally come with some eyebrow-raising price tags. Eight-figure transactions aren’t exactly out of the ordinary when it comes to NFL athletes, as the highest-paid sportsmen rake in tens of millions of dollars each year. Citing an analysis from Betting.com on the richest NFL stars’ residences, a report from Forbes has revealed which football player boasts the priciest pad per square foot.

Clocking in at $28 million, the top spot belongs to New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his Malibu mansion. The veteran NFL player, who recently signed a two-year $75 million contract with the Jets, bought the seaside oasis at the end of 2019. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom property spans 4,636 square feet, which means the bluff-top conventional-style home runs about $6,040 per square foot. A guesthouse offers an additional two bedrooms on the property, which slopes directly down to the beach. If Rodgers isn’t feeling up to the trek on the landscaped path down to the water, he can just hop on the home’s private funicular that goes right down to the sand. Other highlights include a swimming pool, a fire pit with wraparound seating, a huge private deck off the primary suite, and a slide-away great room wall for the obligatory California indoor-outdoor lifestyle.

The runner-up is Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson. He and his wife, “1, 2 Step” singer Ciara, take second place with their European-style estate in Denver. The couple bought the 5.34-acre property last year for $25 million. The main house on the grounds hosts four bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. There’s also a guest apartment atop a detached garage, a basketball court, and an indoor pool.

The power couple just announced that they are currently expecting their third child together. At a whopping 20,000 square feet, their place certainly has room for one more.
