One of Hollywood’s leading funny couples is about to make a pretty penny on the sale of their Atlanta home. Realtor.com reports that actor Melissa McCarthy and fellow comedian, husband Ben Falcone, are in the middle of closing on the sale of their 1960-built property just 12 days after listing it for $4.9 million. If all goes well, the couple will make over 100 percent profit on the sale, having purchased the estate for $2.3 million in 2018.

The buyer is in for a treat as the storybook property is practically move-in ready, with near-flawless interiors and a picturesque exterior. “When Melissa McCarthy suggested unlacquered brass finishes, we knew we were dealing with someone who’s done this before,” HGTV’s Drew and Jonathan Scott said of McCarthy’s keen design eye when she appeared on their renovation show Celebrity IOU back in 2020. From the looks of McCarthy’s Atlanta abode, the brothers were not joking.

Surrounded by lush vegetation, a gated entrance flanked by two gas lanterns greets guests upon arrival to the 9,000-square-foot, split-level estate. Heavy black gates open up to a long driveway, leading to a front yard with manicured lawns. A classical pediment adorns the front entrance.

The interiors of the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom manse give a glamorous yet cozy Hollywood Regency atmosphere, befitting their showbiz fixture soon-to-be-former homeowners. Striking chandeliers are featured in nearly every room, and dark hardwood floors are carried throughout. The space houses several lounge areas, each furnished with velvet Regency and Deco–style furniture.

An enclosed porch area with curved French doors flows into the backyard, allowing for prime indoor-outdoor Southern living. The expansive space features a verdant lawn, a patio with a fire pit, and a pool surrounded by stone pavers and grassy inserts.

McCarthy and Falcone, who have been married since 2005, have been building an impressive real estate portfolio over the years; they own a few properties in California as well as a penthouse in New York City’s Little Italy neighborhood.
